McDonalds: Hong Kong
One of the first things I made sure to do when I arrived in Hong Kong was visit McDonalds. After being spoiled by the Teriyaki burger in Japan, I had wonderful dreams of hamburgers and fried fused with Cantonese cooking. Well, I as totally surprised. McDonalds in Hong Kong does serve unique dishes, but they're not Asian, they're just weird....
So I went in for breakfast, and ordered a soup combo meal. The soup was basically macaroni in broth, with a fried egg, a sausage patty, and canned vegetables. It came with a hash brown, a cup of corn, and Earl Grey tea. Ok, the tea I understand, that's the British influence. The hash brown, that's the American influence. But what the hell is up with the damn corn? Who just gives you a cup of corn? I mean, in Mexico they at least put butter and Parmesan cheese on it, but no, in Hong Kong it's just regular ass corn.
The service was even stranger than the food itself. I tried to order a Qoo, which is a Japanese soft drink. Here's the conversation:
Me: "May I have a Qoo please?"
McDonalds: "The Qoo is part of the kid's meal. You can't order it separately."
Me: "Ok, can I have the kid's meal then."
McDonalds: "No, you're not a kid."
What?! You don't know me! How can they refuse me a kid's meal just because I'm grown. Many grown people order the kid's meal in America.
I just wanted a damn Qoo...

Ok, how fucking cool is this
I hate to knock off someone's look so shamelessly, but this was too cool to pass up. The image on the left was featured in Fruits magazine (Japan) a while ago, and promptly cut out and pasted into my scrap book. The image on the right is me.
I just think it's awesome that we have almost the same articles of clothing. That's globalization at its best.

Peacock Pants and White Pickett Fences
If you look closely, the pattern of the pants is actually a floral design, but that doesn't stop me from calling them peacock pants.

Departure and the lady in red
As fate would have it, I ended up wearing two lace dressed from my Spring Collection back to back. First white, then red. Sort of angel-and-devil-themed, eh?
