Grand Stark Outfit

I have fallen behind on outfit posts. This blog used to just be a record of all the clothing I wore and made, and then it morphed intro a record of travel and life abroad and now I'm not sure what it is.

I don't get to go out very often, and I dress up even less, but when I do, I try to take pictures and record it here.

Here is one from last winter that I really love.

Tokyo Street Style

The purpose: trip to Tokyo
The setting: July, middle of summer 99% humidity and 100 degrees.
The challenge: light breathable layers that I could mix-and match for new looks each day (this stuff has to fit into a suitcase after all).

Falling into Spring

Sometime simple is best. This rain coat keeps making a comeback in my life every spring. It seems this season in Portland is always too cold to go without a jacket, but too rainy for a winter coat. Each year I try to dress it up with some new accessories.

I haven't worn this skirt since I bought it in Japan in 2013. It felt nice to bring it out again here in the states. This is an outfit I out together in 5 minutes for a weekday night at the opera.

Here I am walking around Green Lake in central Seattle.

Brunch in the Blue Tunic

My mom knit this amazing tunic for Christmas. So I wore it to kick-off my New's Year's brunch resolution, in which I vow to wake up early enough to brunch once per week. Such a noble endeavor.

Wedding Bat in San Francisco

This top is actually part of a two-piece wedding ensemble that I snagged for $20 from a vintage store in LA. The top is worn over a cream color satin dress that I'm saving for another occasion. My dream was to be able to wear this top casually, but pairs it with tight jeans and boots. Coincidentally, I happened to find this awesome pair of sunglasses in Thailand which matched perfectly with this outfit.

Bears in San Francisco

I have probably owned this amazing bear pattern knit skirt for years, but have been trying to figure out a way to pull it off. Today I decided on keeping a black palette and pairing it up with the clashing patterns of my striped shirt and scarf.

Back in Osaka, I'm wearing

Fall is in full swing and I finally had a good excuse to wear this old classic of mine. I updated it a bit since I last wore it. Now it looks less Hobbit-ish.
