I didn't find much charm in the town of Mandalay, but one of my fondest memories occurred there. After nearly two days in isolation, I recovered from illness and left my hotel room in the afternoon for a late lunch. On the way back from the restaurant I witnessed the most amazing sunset, which was mirrored perfectly by the waters of the Mandalay Palace mote.
