Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland

I asked my host in San Francisco to take me to a cemetery, and Mountain View is what they chose.

This is probably one of the most famous cemeteries in California, not just for the notable people buried here, but also for the amazing scenery.
True to its name, the view from Mountain View cemetery is spectacular. I'm still slightly confused by cemeteries on the hill in eastern and western cultures alike, where the dead have the best view of the city.

Typically, when I am exploring a cemetery, I am often the only one there. This was not the case in Mountain View. There were dozens of teenage hipsters picnicking, chilling out,  strolling the rows of graves while holding hands.  What a wonderful place for a date.
